Dear Families,
Welcome to a very short week of school. You will be happy to know I updated the
classroom blog with photographs of volcano making and our trip to the pumpkin
patch. It is extremely time consuming to
keep track of every child who is posted in a photo, so if you notice your child
is not in a series of posts, will you please let me know so I can focus my
camera on your student?!?! Many thanks.
Our studies this week focus on:
Math ~ Creating models, adding double digit numbers
Science ~ Volcanoes & Rocks continued
Reading ~ Putting a story in sequence & Building stamina
while reading to self
Writing ~ Composition of a piece of writing, including what happens
First, Next, and Last
I am so thankful to the families who are able to donate
snack to our class. It means so much to our learning. If you are able to donate snack during the
month of October it really does make a difference. Crackers, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables,
sugar free cereal such as plain Cheerios, Goldfish crackers, and Pretzels, are
all good choices for class snack.
Thank you for the rock collections arriving at
school. We are not sharing our
collections until Wednesday, so if you haven’t brought yours in, please do so
as soon as possible.
We are going on our second field trip this Wednesday, October
11th. If you signed up to
chaperone I will send a special email to you tomorrow with all the
details. If you did not sign up and
would like to chaperone, email me as soon as possible. Don’t forget to send in
a lunch if you selected to bring one from home. Also, Dress for the weather. It
looks like it might rain. We will go, rain or shine!
